About Eames Atomic

Mid-century modern, atomic-age industrial design, and the houses that wouldn't quit.

Why midcentury, still

Midcentury modern survived its own caricature. The Eames lounge chair is now a luxury item; the Saarinen tulip table is in every Instagram interior. We're interested in the rest — the ranch houses being demolished, the unsung designers, the plastics chemistry that made the era possible. Eames Atomic documents what's still here.

What we stand for

Functional optimism

Postwar design believed the future was livable. We still mostly believe it.

House as artifact

We document houses, not just objects. Every floor plan tells a story.

Living preservation

Restoration over museum-piece. Houses are for people, not Instagram.
